Preston-headquartered law firm Harrison Drury has been named as one of the best companies to work for in the UK for a third successive year.

The firm, which has nine offices and more than 200 staff across the North West and West Midlands, has made the Top 100 Best Mid-sized Companies to Work For list, placing at number 40.

Harrison Drury has also ranked at number 10 in the list of Best Companies to Work For in the Law Sector and, it has reached number 37 in the Best Companies to Work For in the North West, up six places from last year.

Now in its 25th year, the Best Companies mark is a trusted barometer of how an organisation engages with its staff because it is based wholly on employee feedback from surveys conducted confidentially by the Best Companies team.

Employees provide feedback through the Best Companies Index, which measures engagement across eight key areas, including leadership, wellbeing, and giving something back.

The insights gathered from these areas help companies to turn this workforce intelligence into meaningful change - leading to stronger engagement, retention and performance.

This year’s lists were unveiled at the Best Companies ‘Big Reveal’ ceremony in London today (November 13).

Simon England, managing partner of Harrison Drury, said: “The employee experience is something we never take for granted and we’re always looking for ways to improve this, alongside offering an inspiring environment to work in, and creating a supportive culture that allows our people to grow and progress their career.

“In the last 12-months, we’ve invested further in our workplace environments, moving to new offices in Manchester and Clitheroe, upgrading our Kendal office and opening an office in Stoke-on-Trent.

Simon added: “We’ve always held the view that offering the best possible service to our clients starts with looking after our people and we’re delighted these efforts are once again reflected in the feedback our staff have given as part of the Best Companies research.

"We’re thrilled to have made the Top 100 Best Companies for a third successive year.”

Harrison Drury’s employee initiatives include annual physical health checks, access to mental health and wellbeing support such as the Employee Assistance Programme and trained Mental Health First Aiders, paid time off for voluntary and charity work, and a people management development programme to help managers develop their skills and better support colleagues.

Harrison Drury was named in the top 50 within the Best Mid-sized Companies list last year and also made the list for three years running between 2016 and 2018.
