Hamish Hamilton appointed regional ICAEW president

Hamish Hamilton has been appointed president of ICAEW Lancashire and South Lakeland, replacing Gillian Bardin who has completed her term.

Hamish is group chairman of Preston-based Vistage International. He will support Lancashire and South Lakeland’s 1,780 members across the area, which forms part of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

His primary role will be to represent, promote and support chartered accountants in the region. He will also oversee the delivery of a range of services for members including a series of professional development courses, and a variety of technical and networking events including the annual dinner.

He will be by deputy president Neil McMillan. The president and committee invited local members to join them at the Annual General Meeting at the Marriott Hotel, Preston which was followed by a networking BBQ. Guests were entertained by close-up magician Jason Rea.
