Five years ago we had a slightly crazy idea. What if Lancashire had a festival-style business event to grow the B Corp movement?
With a small pot of funding we ran our first event in 2022 at The Wellbeing Farm. It wasn’t a conference. It was a gathering (with llamas) for people who believe business can be a force for good. Our first keynote speaker was Paul Hargreaves from Cotswold Fayre.
Since then, from a small B Corp farm based venue in Lancashire, we’ve welcomed representatives from purpose-led brands including Brewgooder, Tony’s Chocolonely, Faith In Nature, One+All, Silentnight, Sustainable Energy First, B Lab UK, The Better Business Network and many more speakers and panellists than I can possibly name here.
Last year our keynote came from Patrick Grant (aka BBC Sewing Bee) and we even included Wombles.
Every year something interesting has happened and the community has grown, the conversations have deepened and more businesses are asking not why purpose matters… but how it actually drives growth.
So as we head into Year 5, we took a step back- we know that the businesses that will thrive in the next decade will not just be the fastest, they will be the most purposeful. The conversation is no longer just about B Corp certification, it’s about how purpose-led businesses build stronger brands, attract better talent and create long-term, commercial growth.
So to reflect that, we’ve evolved and this year for Year 5, we are introducing Growth for Good – B Corp Fest
Same energy but with a bigger ambition. This is still far from a beige conference. It is a one-day, festival-style business event designed to challenge, connect and inspire, with honest conversations, real case studies and practical insight you can actually take back into your business.
Speakers announced so far include:
Chris Turner - CEO of B Lab UK
Masami Sato - Founder of the global giving platform B1G1
Maxine & Darcy Laceby - Founder and daughter - Absolute Collagen
With more to be announced over the coming weeks.
This year, we’re doing something new. Every year, nobody really wants to leave at the end of the day. So we’re leaning into that. We’re extending into the Growth for Good Evening Celebration, creating space to continue the conversations over drinks, bowl food, music and firepits, because that is where the real connections (and often the best ideas) happen.
Wednesday 3rd June 2026
