Glendale is proud to announce that they have been awarded a contract to deliver an all-encompassing Grounds Maintenance, Tree Surgery and Estate Services contract to one of the leading housing associations in the UK.

Glendale has been appointed to maintain a high standard grounds maintenance service to communal open spaces in Aster neighbourhoods across the Southwest for the next 5-years, with the option to extend for a further 2-years. Glendale has worked with Aster since 2015, delivering arboriculture services and this new contract will see services increase to include all external maintenance services including grounds maintenance, cleansing, tree surgery, pressure washing and reactive services across over 800 sites and 5 counties.

The contract was awarded in separate lots covering different geographical areas and Glendale came out on top based on a price and quality score and awarded lots covering Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire, valued at c£1.4m per annum.

The selection criteria covered 6 key areas of price, quality, technical merit, customer service, social value, and sustainability.

Key to the Glendale offer is their locally employed teams, working from established offices in Exeter, Bristol, and Blandford Forum, coupled with the establishment of the Aster Academy which will launch careers in horticulture and arboriculture for young people in the Southwest through structured training programmes and apprenticeships. Glendale has made a commitment to carbon reductions through electric vehicles and machinery as well as recycling all waste. Further commitments have been made towards healthy living and community involvement in nature conservation projects across Aster’s portfolio.

This is another great contract win for Glendale, coming on the back of several significant new business gains in recent months including a major contract to deliver a full-service grounds maintenance service to Edinburgh Castle by Historic Environment Scotland and delivering a full-service grounds maintenance service to Heathrow Airport comprising of two packages; the first, landside which Glendale commenced on 1st April 2021 and the second, airside maintenance services which Glendale will take on from 1st January 2022.

Glendale offers an all-encompassing green space management service at a national and local level. They are skilled designers, suppliers and deliverers of grounds maintenance, tree management, landscaping, landscape architectural services, planning consultancy and woodland management activities, tackling these, and various other green space management tasks, for public and private sector clients across the UK. They also provide a range of winter grounds maintenance services including winter gritting and snow clearing services.

Glendale is a national company with a local feel, led by a team who care deeply about their people and the industry, dedicated to delivering the best possible service for clients across the UK.
