Cloud technology for business has come of age over the past four or five years. Rightly or wrongly Making Tax Digital (MTD) is focusing the minds of businesses and their advisors and being used as the ‘carrot and stick’ for business owners to consider switching to products such as Xero.

By John Toon, manager, Beever and Struthers.

As someone who has been using and advising businesses on implementing cloud systems for nearly 10 years, MTD shouldn’t be the trigger for such a move. After all, even desktop systems from the likes of Sage will be upgraded for the new reporting requirements – at a cost.

Why should you consider a move to the cloud? Simply put - efficiency and massive amounts of it!

The current business environment is incredibly competitive, uncertain and fast moving - so being agile helps to reduce these risks.

A business that’s efficient generates bigger profits and more cash, enables you to make prompt, informed, decisions and wastes less of your time and that of your employees and advisors.

Did I mention - it’s also much cheaper than most desktop software. What’s the problem with my desktop software

Businesses are great at building silos of data which quickly become a nightmare to manage. Cloud systems share information automatically eliminating these silos instantly.

Automating boring, repetitive, processing reduces the risk of human error, providing live, accurate, data you can rely on. Together we can win back that wasted time and money and help you build a competitive business for the present day and the future.
