Full marks for Holgates holiday parks

Each of the holiday parks owned and operated by Holgates has been granted five-star AA assessments, with one earning a rare platinum rating.

The seven parks to earn the top rating include the coastal Holgates Bay View Holiday Park in Bolton le Sands, which has undergone recent investment with a new development of holiday homes overlooking Morecambe Bay. In his report on Bay View, the AA inspector said: “It is always a joy to visit this constantly improving holiday destination.”

Holgates Silverdale was awarded the Five-Pennant Platinum rating – the highest possible award for caravan and camping sites in the UK. The new elite title is awarded to five-star parks with a quality score of 95 per cent and above, therefore only those demonstrating exceptionally high standards.

Fewer than 30 holiday parks in the UK hold the status, and Holgates becomes the only holiday park in Lancashire to hold the accolade.

On awarding the Platinum Award to Silverdale, the AA inspector said: “Silverdale continues to achieve a Five Pennant rating with a justifiably Platinum Award. As usual the landscaping is always a labour of love for the hard-working maintenance team, with an excellent overall presentation.”

It’s a badge of honour to be the best park in Lancashire, and one we’ll wear with pride

Michael Holgate, owner of the family-run business, said: “It’s a real group effort and a great achievement for everyone involved at Holgates that we’ve had a clean sweep of five stars across our parks this year. We’ve transformed Bay View into a first class holiday park with excellent facilities and friendly, welcoming staff, so it’s particularly rewarding for the AA to recognise our efforts and promote it to a five-star park.

“The AA ratings have always been a barometer of quality and for our flagship park at Silverdale to now be part of an exclusive group of Five Pennant Platinum parks is tremendous. It’s a badge of honour to be the best park in Lancashire, and one we’ll wear with pride whilst continuing to exceed customer expectations.”
