Financial Affairs completes third acquisition

Burnley-based insurance broker and financial planning firm Financial Affairs has acquired Margins Insurance.

The business, which is also an insurance broker based in Burnley, was established in 1977 and has worked across both commercial and personal insurance services.

The strategic acquisition marks a major expansion for the Financial Affairs group, adding to its Lancashire client base. 

Margins will continue to operate under its own brand while benefiting from the expanded capabilities and resources of the group.

Laurence O’Connor, CEO of Financial Affairs, said: "Our collaboration with Margins, a fellow Burnley-based firm, spans several decades. Having worked in close proximity in the past, we often shared advice with one another and later discovered how aligned our values were."

Stuart Applegate, former CEO of Margins, added: "We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have joined the Financial Affairs group. The acquisition marks a significant milestone for us and means we can continue serving our client base as we have done for the last 47 years, but now with access to even greater resources, wisdom and expertise.”

This latest deal by Financial Affairs comes after their acquisition of Leeds-based AD Wealth last year.
