Accrington Stanley Women will return to the Wham Stadium on Sunday 10th March, as they take on Penrith AFC Ladies in the first round of the Alliance Design & Print Plate Competition.

It is the fourth time that Stanley Women have played at the Wham Stadium this season, and will celebrate International Women's Day and Mother's Day, with hospitality available in Accrington Stanley’s 1968 Lounge for a Mother's Day Afternoon Tea.

Hospitality tickets can be purchased here or by calling 01254 356950.

Free entry has also been announced as Stanley Women hope to welcome a bumper crowd to the Wham Stadium and surpass the 1,249 attendance which attended the club’s local derby against Darwen FC Women in early February.

Free tickets are available to book in advance online.

Accrington Stanley’s world class hospitality venue will be open before, during and after the game which kicks off at 2pm, with food and drink available in Coley’s alongside the hospitality in the 1968 Lounge, as well as a viewing area to watch the match from indoors, while a raffle will also take place on the day.

Accrington Stanley Women are looking for a match sponsor for the game, as well as ball sponsors and a mascot team. Please enquire by emailing: [email protected]

Only goal difference separates Stanley Women and Penrith AFC Ladies in the North West Womens Regional League Division One North, with both sides sitting on 34 points, having won 11 games each.

Stanley Women have won 10 of their last 14 games in all competitions and will be looking to enjoy a good cup run after exiting the League Cup against Darwen FC Women.

Before the cup tie at the Wham Stadium, Stanley Women travel to face Penwortham Town Ladies on Sunday 3rd March at Vernons Sports Club – 2pm kick off.

Sami Smithson, chair of Accrington Stanley Women, said: “We are delighted to be returning to the Wham Stadium having only played there a few weeks ago.

“This will be a wonderful occasion for Accrington Stanley Women as a club to celebrate International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, and we are so excited to offer free entry once again, which will hopefully result in another huge crowd to the Wham Stadium.

“These games always have a fantastic community spirit and we would like to encourage everyone to come down and enjoy a fantastic day including the amazing hospitality on offer.”

Accrington Stanley Women are sponsored by Sundown Solutions. They are actively looking for sponsorship partners and have over 200 players across all age groups. If you’re interested in sponsorship opportunities, please email [email protected]

Accrington Stanley Women against Penrith AFC Ladies takes place on Sunday 10th March at the Wham Stadium, with kick off at 2pm.
