Farleys Solicitors held its annual St Patrick’s Day event at Accrington Stanley on Friday 13 March, welcoming more than 130 guests from across the Lancashire business community.
The event included a three-course lunch and drinks, alongside live music from David Jaggs. Guests also took part in a charity auction and raffle with prizes available including football tickets, concert tickets, spa vouchers, holiday packages and more.
In what has become a tradition in the St Patrick’s Day auction, a teddy bear caused the biggest bidding war, eventually fetching a whopping £800 from one very generous bidder.
All of this contributed to a final total raised of £10,782.50. Added to this, the Farleys Foundation, the firm’s charitable foundation has agreed to top up the final total meaning £20,000 will be donated to Cash for Kids Lancashire.
Ian Liddle, managing partner at Farleys, said: “Over the years our St Patrick’s Day event has become an important fixture for Farleys and the Lancashire business community. What started as a small gathering amongst business contacts and friends for a St Patrick’s Day drink or two has grown into a hugely successful celebration and fundraisers.
“It’s a chance to bring people together and raise money for a local cause that supports children and families across the region.
“Thank you to everyone who joined us this year and who contributed so generously and to Accrington Stanley for being great hosts as always. These funds will go a long way to making a real difference in our community.”
Emma Humphreys, Cash for Kids Charity fundraising executive, added: "We are incredibly grateful to Farleys Solicitors for raising £20,000 at this fantastic event.
"Every pound raised will stay local, right here in Lancashire, helping us support children and young people who need it most. The continued support of Farleys truly makes a life-changing difference to families across our communities, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make an even greater impact in the future!"
