Lucy MacNeill, a business analyst, working within the digital data team at Eric Wright Facilities Management at Bamber Bridge, Preston, has been shortlisted for a Frontline Heroes Award in the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management (IWFM) Impact Awards 2021.

Lucy, who is from Fleetwood, has worked for Eric Wright FM for over seven years and is well-known across the business for her dedication in supporting residents and community organisations. The IWFM nomination by her colleagues follows Lucy’s achievements In 2020 when she won the Lancashire High Sherriff’s Award for services to the community.

Much of Lucy’s free time is spent supporting the Westview Community Association in Fleetwood, Lancashire. Westview was established in 1998 and offers a wide range of facilities, accessible to its local community across Fleetwood and Wyre. Lucy is heavily invested in her work at the Association and is responsible for leading and implementing initiatives for educational, social, health and personal development.

With Lucy’s guidance, the Association has been able to build local partnerships and support the community offering. Lucy has also been involved in various bids for funding which have made a huge difference to the quality of services on offer. With Lucy’s support the Association has been able to  improve its facilities by purchasing a suite of computers, providing its members with a means of development, whether it is  job hunting or completing homework.

Lucy has also supported the Association to deliver Duke of Edinburgh events, helping young people to gain new skills, help others and explore new territories. Lucy and the committee, work tirelessly to improve self-esteem and personal development amongst its members; to improve aspirations within the community and to increase prospects and employment opportunities.

George Lilley, managing director of Eric Wright Facilities Management said: “We are so proud of Lucy’s achievements and wish her every success in the finals of the awards. Her work in the community is a perfect example of how individuals can really make a difference and her approach embodies our company ethos to support our local communities whenever we can. We fully encourage and support our staff to further drive positive social value and are proud to share Lucy’s story.”

Eric Wright FM is part of the Eric Wright Group, which is 100% owned by the Eric Wright Charitable Trust.
