'Eco eatery' to open at Gazegill Organic Farm
The 300 sq m site will sit within the 250-acre farm estate at Rimington and will be an 'off the grid', green oaked framed and glass building.
The new development will be powered by wind and solar, and serve organic food farmed on its own land.Husband-and-wife team Ian O’Reilly and Emma Robinson doubled the turnover of their business in two years after revamping their online shop with Preston-based EKM, the cloud-based ecommerce platform.
Now, around 75 per cent of Gazegill’s turnover is generated by online sales, which has enabled the couple to invest in the new eco-eatery and in other areas of the farm.Ian said: “As custodians of Gazegill, we feel a huge responsibility to continue the forward-thinking work of the Robinson family, whose vision to farm ethically, organically and with kindness to the environment was way ahead of its time."
The Gazegill Organic Farm eco-eatery is on schedule to launch in May or June 2019 and will bring with it new job opportunities for local people. [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGBWFG7GJrg[/embed]
