Driving success with innovative training

Scott Walker, training manager for Swansway Group, is leading the charge to meet the demands of the new ways of doing business in the motor industry. He is designing and delivering innovative, bespoke, training programmes around the new sales disciplines linked to digital merchandising, across all our dealerships and locations.

Scott says, “It’s both a challenge and a privilege to be imagining what best practice for retail digital merchandising is going to be. Everyone in sales has to consider how we can deliver a memorable and enjoyable customer experience in new ways over the next few weeks and months, as we all experience our “new normal”. And the development doesn’t stop there – we are also attempting to look into the future as we consider what the next big sales platforms and new technologies might offer our customers.

"I think that in the coming decade our industry will continue to evolve, allied to the rapid advancement in the technology and production of the vehicles we sell. We face significant change both in the way cars are powered and the way people buy and own cars - so we must invest in, and develop ourselves just as rapidly!

"However our commitment to great service must never be compromised. My role is to balance training people already successful in our business, enabling them to move forward within our industry, while showing the next generation of sales executives how to be successful in the current market. I enjoy every minute of it.”
