Becky Toal, chief executive at sustainability consultancy Crowberry Consulting, has been shortlisted for an Alumni Award from the University of Liverpool.
The awards shine a spotlight on the achievements and contributions from the uiversity's global alumni community. The sustainability and environment category recognises alumni who have made significant contributions to sustainability and environmental stewardship, helping to protect the planet through innovation, advocacy, research and action.
Becky said: “It was fantastic to be recognised and shortlisted for the sustainability and environment category at the Alumni Awards, and to be in the company of esteemed scientists, researchers and advocates in this field.
"I graduated in 2000 with my MBA environmental management and 1997 MSc environmental impact assessment and can honestly say University of Liverpool helped to shape and direct my career in environmental management since graduating.
"It is very inspiring to be recognised by my university and I want to congratulate all the winners and finalists in the other categories."
Becky Toal won the 2022 Society for the Environment Environmental Professional of the Year, has been acknowledge as a leading woman in STEM by the FSB and appeared in the ENDS top 100 environmental professionals list. In 2026 she was elected to the Board of Society for the Environment to champion skills, competencies and chartership.
