Create director presents prestigious Maurice Adamson Award

Claire Oakes, SHEQ director at Create Construction, received a personal invite from Safety Groups UK to attend this year’s Health and Safety Awards ceremony, held at the House of Lords. She was asked to formally present the Maurice Adamson Award to the new Outstanding Service Award winner 2018.

The ceremony celebrates the achievements and efforts of the group members over the past year. Last year, Claire won the Maurice Adamson Award for outstanding contribution by an individual to the Safety Groups network and was asked back to formally present the award to this year’s winner, in the presence of Lord Brougham and Vaux CBE.

At the ceremony, Claire was invited to make a speech reflecting on what winning the award had meant to her and to provide some words of wisdom to this year’s winner, Sylvia Ellis of Harrogate and District Health & Safety Forum.

Claire Oakes commented:“It was such an honour to be invited back to The House of Lords this year to present the prestigious Maurice Adamson Award. Congratulations to Sylvia on receivingrecognition for her outstanding contribution to ensure the success of the Safety Group’s movement.”
