Community Life Choices awarded five-borough contract

Preston-based home care specialist, Community Life Choices, has been awarded a contract to provide care and support services for children and young people within five Merseyside boroughs.

SONY DSCThe company, which provides services for people with a wide range of disabilities and conditions, including adults and children, has dedicated advice centres across the UK.

Appointed by Knowsley, Sefton, Halton, Wirral and Liverpool Councils, the company will support children with complex needs such as health problems, disabilities and challenging behaviours, developing individual support packages to ensure that families can lead ordinary lives.

As well as providing personal care, the packages will give families short breaks away from their carer role, allowing them respite whilst also ensuring that young people take part in positive community-based activities to build friendships, self-esteem and quality of life.

The company has just completed its routine inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which resulted in high recommendations from inspectors for the quality of service provided.

Alan Frew, managing director of Community Life Choices, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by these local authorities to provide our support packages as it will help families who are in need of additional support. “The flexibility of our service is sensitive to individual family needs and our team of dedicated and hard-working staff have all the skills required to meet the changing needs of children and young people.”
