A new deputy chief executive and director of community and wellbeing has been appointed at Preston City Council.
Marianne Hesketh is joining Preston from Wyre Council, where she was director of communities, a position which she has held since 2016.
The appointment marks a return to Preston for Marianne. She left her post as the city’s head of policy in 2011 to join Wyre as its head of transformation.
Her career spans three decades in local government and also includes a spell at Lancashire County Council.
Marianne, who lives in Goosnargh, said: “This is an exciting and busy time for local government, and I'm genuinely excited about building on the excellent work already delivered by both the council and the community and wellbeing directorate.
"It's an honour to serve the residents and businesses of Preston, and I look forward to contributing further to the positive impact the Council continues to make.
“My career has been dedicated to public service and delivering high-quality, community-focused services, and I can't wait to get started.”
