Businesswoman launches spiced food range in 300 SPAR stores

Businesswoman and mother of four, Fazila Malek, has launched a new line of deliciously spiced wraps and flatbreads, available exclusively from SPAR stores across the North of England.

The Fazilas range includes Chicken Tikka Masala wrap with free range mayonnaise; Keralan style chicken wrap with garlic and ginger mayonnaise; Chickpea salad wrap with chilli mango dressing (vegan); Onion Bhaji and Bombay potato wrap (vegan) and Tandoori chicken flatbread with lemon and herb mayonnaise.

Showcasing a blend of delicious Asian spices and irresistible flavours, the new range of wraps and flatbreads will be included in the SPAR meal deal, which offers a main, snack and drink for £3.50. There is also a new range of sandwiches for more modest palates; Cheese savoury sandwich; Chicken mayonnaise; Egg mayonnaise; and Tuna Mayonnaise.

Fazila Malek said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be launching my new range with SPAR and to be promoting irresistible Asian flavours amongst customers who prefer a quality, home-styled, traditional lunchtime treat. The new range features the latest in flavours from across the world, with on trend dressings and two aromatic vegan options.”

Originally from Gujurat in India, Fazila began her food business in 1997, providing local housewives with delicious homemade dishes and producing made-to-order ethnic food from her home in Bolton.

Fazila’s products were so popular with the local community that she soon had to move into a small retail outlet, working the business around her young family of four children and developing new product lines to include traditional pasties with a hint of spice, a range of frozen food and hot buffet food.

In 2007, the company moved to a purpose built facility on the Waters Meeting Business Park in Bolton and today employs over 40 staff.
