Brysdales to focus on growth as new MD takes helm

Chorley based Brysdales, one of the North West’s leading providers of racking, shelving, archive storage solutions and partitioning, mezzanines, and material handling equipment has appointed Elizabeth Porter to the position of Managing Director as it focuses its attention on accelerating growth.

Porter, who joined the business in September 1994 succeeds Brysdales’ founder John Green, who started the business in 1974 and now takes on the role of Chairman.

Throughout her 20-year career at Brysdales, Elizabeth has taken on a range of roles and started at the business part time before becoming full time and taking responsibility for quality systems development, marketing, human resources and business administration.

Commenting on her appointment, Elizabeth, who lives in Preston, said, “Over the last 20 years I’ve seen an incredible amount of change in the business, including technological advances in materials, the range of products that we are able to offer our clients and the introduction of stringent compliance standards.

“We’ve successfully created a work culture that promotes staff advancement and minimal staff turnover coupled with a passion for delivering our customers with outstanding service and a technical ability that sets us apart from our competitors.

“As I take on the role of MD, we’re at a very exciting stage as we’re seeing considerable growth in our market place and my vision is to build on these opportunities. We’re now looking to recruit new people to the team who can not only help enhance our customer service offer and technical know how even further, but bring fresh ideas to the table.”

As technology continues to advance, Brysdales has witnessed a greater demand for speed of response from its clients without compromising quality. Due to the complexity of providing bespoke shelving, pallet racking, partitioning and mezzanine floor solutions the business has, unlike others not had to compete against web based competitors, and has therefore been able to fulfill the increased demand from those requiring solutions for their multiple warehousing facilities around the UK.

Elizabeth continued, “As a business we’re also seeing continued growth in our e-commerce offer in the supply of material handling and workplace products as well as industry specific products such as plastic gas cylinder trolleys for use within the healthcare sector.

“Having received our much coveted SEMA accreditation, I believe we’re now ready to take Brysdales to the next level and increase our offer and presence not only in the North West but new territories too, with a team who are committed to delivering a first class service.”

Brysdales operate throughout the North West, with representatives supporting customers in locations across Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Greater Manchester and North Wales. For further information regarding Brysdales visit www.brysdales.co.uk.
