Brookhouse Aerospace introduces new tech to support increased demand

A £165,000 investment in new technologies has allowed a Darwen-based aerospace firm to enhance its production capabilities and efficiencies.

Brookhouse Aerospace has introduced new advanced scanning technology to develop model data for reverse engineering requirements, plus the capability to scan tools and components throughout the manufacturing process, to optimise conformity and quality control.

In addition, Brookhouse is also introducing specialist thermoplastic forming technology, which will enable the aerospace specialist to deliver custom solutions for a wide range of applications, including aircraft interiors and drone technologies.

Matthew Rossiter, CEO, said: “The production efficiencies and extended capabilities these new technologies bring further support our ability to deliver value and increased levels of capacity for our customers, to support future production schedules."

With more than 260 employees, the India Mill-based company provides composites, fabrication, machining, treatments and engineering expertise for major organisations such as BAE Systems, Airbus and Rolls-Royce.

Matthew said: “Our strong customer-focused approach – demonstrated by long-standing collaborative supplier relationships – is what drives our continued focus on efficiency, reliability and flexibility, to deliver excellence across the aerostructures sector."

Over recent months the business has also introduced a new composite routing cutter system, re-modelled its tooling methodology and introduced new tube winder equipment, to further optimise efficiencies across its composites manufacturing processes.

More widely the engineering business has expanded with the addition of a new 41,000 sq ft facility, invested more than £500,000 in new precision machining machinery, opened-up internal treatment capabilities to meet increased market demand and secured consortium funding for an innovate manufacturing solution.

Towards the end of 2025 it also acquired precision component manufacturing business Parker Precision to further extend its capabilities across aerospace and wider sectors.
