Bowled over by Lancashire at MIPIM

There are wild tales told about MIPIM – some are true! MIPIM is a 4-day property exhibition, conference and networking event gathering 26,000 international property professionals held each year in Cannes, France.

Over the years it has been criticised for extravagant parties – post recession its again hailed as a great place to do business, and business is what AG went looking for in March. As proud members of the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership delegation for the 3rd year, we looked to promote Lancashire’s distinctive character and encourage investment into Lancashire. AG sponsored a ‘Plus 1’ dinner that saw a host of Lancashire Ambassadors bringing a friend to learn what Lancashire has to offer (food all the way from Lancashire and cooked by MasterChef’s Oli Martin no less!).

The mix of private and public sector partners generated a great atmosphere in which to find out more about what we all had to offer and to meet likeminded Lancastrians and fans of Lancashire.

AG also used the trip to launch our new ‘Joint Venture and Collaboration’ service aimed at initiating relationships and partnerships between Registered Providers and Developers / Contractors as well as providing JV contract services.

Sunny days and late nights meeting dozens of potential clients and fellow consultants coupled with attending conference sessions led by keynote speakers takes it out of you – so it was a very welcome curtain call to attend the chilled-out Lancashire Ambassadors Brunch at the Grand Hotel apartment venue. There we relaxed and reflected on an excellent few days and talked Lancashire and property with our own Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff – an amazing character and a proud Official Ambassador.

So, my advice to my property colleagues– get involved, as one veteran told me ‘there are more clients per square metre at MIPIM than anywhere else in the world’
