In a bid to support employee wellbeing, the Bowker Group is closing another of its dealerships on Sundays from now on.
Bowker Motorrad will now only open six days a week following a successful pilot at the groups BMW and MINI dealerships in Blackburn and Preston, which launched in May.
Bowker has found that the new working patterns have resulted in higher footfall during weekdays, making Sunday opening less important than before.
John Nichol, for Bowker Motorrad, said: "The decision by Bowker BMW and MINI to close on Sundays has been well received by both employees and customers. That has made it easier to introduce the new six-day opening at Bowker Motorrad as well.
“Bowker Motorrad's customer experience remains a priority, too. We believe that scheduling an extra day off will contribute positively to performance. We hope customers will enjoy the associated benefits of improved staff wellbeing too.
"This change isn't just about our employees; it's also a nod towards greater sustainability. Reduced operational hours mean lower energy consumption, complementing our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. As the six-day week becomes a permanent feature at Bowker Motorrad, it reminds us that we’re not just selling motorbikes; we’re also honouring values that balance work and leisure, customer satisfaction, and a sustainable future."
