To coincide with World Book Day on Thursday 5th March, Bellway has donated £300 to St Aidan’s Church of England Primary School, on Larch Grove in Bamber Bridge, to purchase new books for its pupils.

Bellway, who is currently building a collection of three and four bedroom homes at Grey Gables Farm on Brindle Road in Bamber Bridge, is committed to giving back to the local community and was keen to support the school with much needed funds.

The money donated by the housebuilder will be used by the school to buy brand new books as well as replace popular titles that have suffered from wear and tear, ensuring each class benefits.  The range of books will cater for children aged between four and eleven, boosting St Aidan’s library offering.

Leanne Finch, headteacher at St Aidan’s, comments: “Reading is so important within the school for the educational development of our children so Bellway’s donation for new books is very much appreciated.

“World Book Day is always a fun day in school with exciting activites linked to our favourite books; it is also a wonderful way to encourage children to read more.  With new books arriving, the pupils will be able to enjoy new stories and adventures, bringing to life new characters, which really is invaluable.”

Susannah Thomas, sales manager at Bellway, adds: “With St Aidan’s located just a short walk away from Grey Gables Farm, it was important for us to get involved with the school, giving something back to the local community.

“The £300 donation for new books linked really nicely to World Book Day, but more importantly, will help the children currently at the school, as well as pupils attending in future years, with their education.”

There is currently a range of three bedroom semi-detached homes plus three and four bedroom detached homes available at Grey Gables Farm, with prices starting from £179,995.
