Bell Trailers invests for growth

Nelson-based Bell Trailer Rentals has recently made a significant investment for growth in the purchase of hundreds of new HGV trailers to add to its existing 1,500 strong rental fleet.

The firm has achieved a boost in rental contracts following an increase in sales and marketing activity and the promotion of a new website.

Bell has taken delivery of 250 new trailers from their main supplier SDC, based in Ireland. Each trailer has been built to order in line with Bell’s expansion plans and upon arrival has gone straight out for use with a variety of clients across the UK.

The firm has recently created a new position in taking on a head of sales who will work nationally to generate new business with own account hauliers and logistics firms across the UK.

Michael Bell, managing director, said: “2013-14 was an excellent year for us and we are building on our success in our plans for 2014-15. We are incredibly confident with our quality offering in terms of equipment, customer service and price. This sees us with a very strong repeat customer base and a healthy percentage of new contracts coming on board on the back of our robust reputation.”

Bell Trailers celebrated its 25th year in business last year, and the company remains owner-managed and proud of its history. The firm employs 21 people at its 6-acre site on Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, Nelson.
