BB Law unveils trio of partner promotions

By Birchall Blackburn

07 Aug 2014

Birchall Blackburn Law has promoted three talented lawyers as part its strategic growth programme.

Debora Harrison, Gillian Graveson and Tammy Jones have been promoted to partner at the firm’s Preston office on Avenham Street.

Debora Harrison, 41, lives in the Ribble Valley and specialises in clinical negligence. Her field of expertise includes all aspects of personal injury, catastrophic injury, medical and clinical negligence.

She recently achieved a settlement of £1.5 m for a client and is a Senior Litigator Accredited by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL). Her promotion follows a commitment to the protection of clients who have suffered from medical accidents and hospital or GP failings, plus a dedication to handling very sensitive and complicated cases with expert care.

Gillian Graveson from Catforth has been a practicing family lawyer for over 20 years and heads up the family law team in Preston. She is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, a qualified Collaborative Lawyer and a member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel.

Tammy Jones, 34 and from Buckshaw Village, started her career at Birchall Blackburn Law as junior case worker while she completed her Law Degree and Legal Practice Course (LPC). She qualified in 2000 and has become an expert residential property lawyer advising clients on the often complex process of buying and selling property.

Commenting on the promotions, partner, Carlos Lopez, said: “As a firm, we recognise that the success of our business is totally dependent upon developing and attracting the very best people.

“Debora, Gillian and Tammy are highly respected in their fields by both clients and colleagues and bring great passion, expertise and dedication to their work for their clients. “The partner promotions across the Preston office support our ambitions for growth for our people, our firm and to develop our expertise across all areas of law.” Birchall Blackburn Law is one of just a handful of law firms to hold nine Law Society accreditations across its service areas, holding the quality mark in conveyancing, insolvency, family law, children law, wills and inheritance and commercial litigation.
