BAKO launches new website

BAKO Group Limited has launched a new website to boost online engagement with customers. 

Founded in 1964 ‘by bakers for bakers’, BAKO has evolved into one of the UK and Ireland’s leading suppliers to the bakery and wider foodservice sectors.

Today, BAKO operates from four strategically located sites—Preston, Durham, London, and, following the 2024 acquisition of Finlay’s Foods, Moira, Northern Ireland—providing national coverage with a local touch.

The new website, designed and built in partnership with multi-award-winning Chorley-based digital agency Bespoke features search engine optimised design, synced with BAKO’s digital ordering system, linked across multiple warehousing and distribution facilities.

Gemma Webster, BAKO Group marketing manager, said: “We are very pleased to launch this new site in support of our existing and new customers.

“The new design aims to achieve a number of goals simultaneously.

"Firstly, to provide an increased level of information for current and new customers, along with online ordering accessible directly via the site, in addition to the existing app and telephone ordering.

 “As well as developments to the front-end of the website, a flexible and feature-rich content management system means we are able to make updates to the site on a daily basis, as required.”

“Starting with a strategy workshop to ensure we were taking the right approach to achieving the aims underpinning the new site, we then held a design-sprint workshop together to review the brand strategy and agree the structure of the new site.

"After that, we then worked through the entire build process together up until launch.

“Post-launch, we are also running monitoring software to make sure visitors are finding the website easy-to-use and working with the BAKO team ongoing to ensure the website continues to perform as well as possible in support of its users.”
