Auction bid wins pest control team lunch with Sean Dyche

A winning auction bid at a charity event held at Turners in Barrowford led to a team from Harvey Environmental Services enjoying a premier day out at Burnley Football Club’s new Barnfield Training Centre.

Martin Harvey, managing director of Harvey Environmental Services, made the winning bid for a tour of Burnley’s training ground and lunch with manager Sean Dyche at a CARES (Cancer Assessment Rapid Early Support) fundraising event.

CARES is a new charity, established by Burnley F.C. director John Banaszkiewicz, which aims to save lives by improving people’s experience of cancer assessment and diagnosis.

Martin and four of his employees from the pest control and washroom services company were given the opportunity to watch the first team train and have photos taken with them before eating lunch with Sean Dyche and the squad. Sean then took them on a tour of the new £14m Barnfield training Centre at Gawthorpe.

“Sean was fantastic, taking a lot of time out of his busy schedule to show us every inch of the new training complex,” said Martin Harvey.

“The new facilities are incredible, and something for the team and town to be really proud of. It was a fantastic prize package put together by the CARES team and I was delighted to be able to share it with some of my hard-working team. “My winning bid, and the other money raised at the event at Turners, will kick-start the fundraising team’s efforts to purchase an additional Endoscopy Unit for the region, enabling earlier and quicker diagnosis of those with cancer symptoms.”
