Clayton Amateur Boxing Club will host an extra special black tie boxing event on Friday 6th October to raise funds for the boxing club and the Accrington Stanley Women mini bus fund.

Being held in the 1968 lounge at Accrington Stanley’s world class hospitality venue, the event will also welcome a special VIP guest, youngest ever finalist on BBC’s The Apprentice and new boxing star, Camilla Ainsworth.

Tickets for the evening are priced at £45pp and include a live boxing match between Clayton Amateur Boxing Club and an English Select, as well as a two course dinner. Doors open at 6pm, with the bar open until midnight. To purchase a ticket, call head coach John Brindle on 07825 250 307.

Corporate tables of eight are also available for the night and are priced at £800, including a two course dinner, the live boxing match and PR coverage, as well as logo on promotional material and a full page advert in the event programme. To book a corporate table, call Zahida on 07854 697 876.

Fundraising on the night will see a live auction take place, with the money raised to be split between the Club and the Accrington Stanley Women mini bus fund. Stanley Women are looking to raise £35,000 for a mini bus to provide transport to their away games.

The boxing event is one of many initiatives which Accrington Stanley Women are running as part of their fundraising campaign, including a crossbar challenge at Accrington Stanley Women’s historic match again The Isle of Man National Women’s Team at The Wham Stadium in April.

John Brindle, Head Coach and volunteer at Clayton Amateur Boxing Club, said: “We are looking forward to hosting another knock-out boxing event in Accrington Stanley’s hospitality lounge. We have hosted some fantastic events here already and we are going bigger and better than ever for this one.

“I would like to thank Andy Holt and Accrington Stanley Football Club for all their support, and I would advise anyone looking to attend the event to get their tickets early because if our previous events are anything to go by, they are going to sell out very quickly.”

Sami Smithson, Chair of Accrington Stanley Women, commented: “We are incredibly excited to be part of this event and to have Camilla Ainsworth attending as a VIP guest. She is an inspirational sports woman who has proved that the transferable skills you gain in sport can be applied successfully in the business world. I am sure many young women/girls and men/boys look up to Camilla as a fantastic role model.

“We are also honoured that Clayton ABC are also using the event  in conjunction with #AmazingAccrington to split the contributions to support our mini bus fundraising campaign. We are looking to raise £35,000 by the end of the year and this will go a long way to supporting that.”

Clayton Amateur Boxing Club has provided a safe space for hundreds of children and young people. Some are trying to turn their lives around, others from challenging backgrounds and many are just looking for a place to go in the face of cuts to youth services.
