APM Design is delighted to have been voted the winner in the 2020 Northern Design Awards Project of the Year (+£500k category) for the exclusive Athelis health spa in Warrington.

Based in Darwen, Lancashire, APM Design is well established having been in business for over 30 years. Their industry leading design service has also led to them being the first design based company to be official partners with the Northern Powerhouse scheme. APM is a family-run commercial interior design practice which also offers chartered project and cost management services.

APM Design provided a full interior design role on the award winning Athelis project, which also included external terrace and landscape design. The recognition of Athelis being voted as the Northern Design Awards Project of the Year is a welcome end to a challenging 2020, during which time APM were also shortlisted as commercial design practice of the year. This was a fitting recognition of their long term stability and proactive approach to remaining open and on hand to meet the needs of their Clients throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

Design director, Andy McCluskey, spoke with pride following the announcement: “We would just like to say what a massive honour it is for APM to win this award. It means a great deal to us all and is recognition for all the teams hard work this year. 2020 has been an extraordinary and unprecedentedly difficult year for the whole world.

"Winning this award has therefore given us a much needed boost.  We now approach 2021 with a renewed and optimistic vigour and look forward to demonstrating what APM can offer in the year ahead, to ensure that Northern Design continues to lead the way.”

Having already secured a number of exciting projects for 2021 APM looks forward to another successful year during which they hope their award winning designs will give clients pride and excitement as they begin to re-open their venues.
