Solicitor Amanda Coates has joined the private client department of Nelson-based law firm Farnworth Rose.

She specialises in working with wills, probate and lasting powers of attorney, as well as assisting clients with court of protection deputyship applications. She has in-depth knowledge of estate planning and provides advice on inheritance tax and the use of trusts.

Amanda qualified as a solicitor in 2011, and is a student member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP), the global professional association for Solicitors who specialise in family inheritance and succession planning.

She is also Dementia Friend in association with the Alzheimer’s Society.

Amanda said: "I’m now looking forward to helping clients in all aspects of estate planning. Making a will or a lasting power of attorney is vital to ensure that you plan for your future whilst you are still in good health.

“Many people do find it difficult to consider what might happen if they are unable to manage their own affairs. However, receiving the right legal advice quickly means you can control how decisions will be handled further down the line.” Janet Lalor, director at Farnworth Rose, added: “Amanda is a welcome addition to the growing team at Farnworth Rose and her expertise will allow us to enhance the range of services we currently provide to our clients.”
