A North West-based home care group has been recognised as one of the very best in the UK.

Offering care, support and nursing services to people in their own homes, Alcedo Care, with offices in Blackpool, Southport and Wigan & St Helens, has been rated joint top home care group in the whole of the UK, and the top home care group in the North West of England by leading home care review website homecare.co.uk.

Updated on an annual basis, the homecare.co.uk awards are based solely on the reviews of home care companies and their services, provided by clients direct to the homecare.co.uk website. Individuals are asked to rate all aspects of the services they receive, including quality of care, compassion and value for money, and all reviews are subsequently verified independently by the homecare.co.uk team before publication.

Alcedo has been rated exceptionally highly by its clients resulting in an overall score of 9.9 out of 10 and beating more than 600 other home care providers across the UK to be jointly ranked in first place. It is a fantastic achievement for the family business that employs more than 400 people across the North West.

Managing director at Alcedo, Andy Boardman, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award and it reflects our commitment to employing only the very best people who can deliver the highest standards of care and compassion for our clients.

“We have a great management team and a wonderful spirit and determination across our group that drives us to enrich the lives of our clients by helping them to maintain their independence at home. Without question, this award belongs to our carers, who are the most important people in the business, continuing to deliver care and support with unswerving resolve throughout this entire Covid-19 crisis without ever taking a backwards step.”

Homecare.co.uk is the leading home care reviews website with 9,619 registered providers, more than 2.5 million unique visits per year and 22,892 independently verified home care reviews.

Reviews manager of homecare.co.uk, Amanda Hopkins, said: “People are living longer with more complex conditions, so home care providers, which offer compassionate, personalised care to people living in their own homes are becoming increasingly crucial in today’s society.

“During the pandemic, home care providers have played a key role in caring for the elderly and vulnerable who may be self-isolating at home. They have been integral in providing care for people that are all too often forgotten about by society. Alcedo Care has proved that it provides a high standard of care and we’d like to congratulate it on being a top home care group.”

Established in 2017, Alcedo continues to expand at pace and is fast gaining an enviable reputation as the home care provider of choice thanks to its superb 400-strong team of highly skilled and compassionate carers who make a tangible difference to the quality of life of the company’s home care clients.

Run by Andy and Jo Boardman, a passionate husband and wife team, the company aims to bring something different to the sector based on recruiting only the very best carers and retaining them by placing value on job satisfaction, training, continued professional development, internal promotion prospects and pay structure. This combined with using the very latest technology is what sets the Alcedo Care Group apart from other home care providers.

With offices in Southport, Blackpool and Wigan & St Helens, Alcedo offers home care services across the North West including Lancashire, Liverpool and Lancaster and Wyre.
