The visit was prompted by acdc’s high profile contract win secured earlier this year to supply £5 million of lighting to Muscat airport in Oman. While most businesses are trying to survive today’s economic struggles, world renowned lighting firm acdc has decided to take a pro-active approach; and has been actively seeking out new opportunities across the world, including this contract.
In June acdc moved to an office site 3 times the size of their previous one, offering significant room for future growth in line with the company’s ambitious goals and ensuring that acdc will remain in Barrowford for at least the next 5 years.acdc’s manufacturing team currently operates from a 30,000 sq.ft. hi-tech, state of the art facility which is a successful blend of automation with manual processes to ensure high volume, high quality product delivery whilst maintaining flexible lead times on a wide variety of products. With the main office relocating to its new home, production has been able to increase its capacity further, to meet the growing demands of the business.
The increase in production and improvements to the manufacturing facility in such a difficult time was also a key factor in securing His Royal Highnesses visit, as he has a particular interest in technology and manufacturing. Commenting on the visit, Gareth Frankland said “This visit is happening as recognition of our position in the marketplace and represents the hard work of everyone at acdc. It’s a real opportunity for us to celebrate our success and the major steps we have all taken as a company.”Enjoyed this? Read more from acdc LED Ltd
