By Rebecca Allam Two Preston-based business support organisations have come together to create a ‘safe space’ where owners, directors and sole-traders can talk about their money worries and the future.

The Business Clinic and Company Money Worries are responding to the increasing pressure facing companies and individuals as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and the economic fallout it is causing.

From the New Year, they will be holding physical and virtual drop-in clinics for those who need support, offering confidential and one-to-one sessions with an expert advisor.

The organisations are committed to taking away the stresses and strains of money worries, as well as supporting future success, by helping companies and individuals find a path forward and a clear plan to tackle their financial problems. And their message to the business community in these challenging times is: “This is not a battle you have to face alone.”

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), The Business Clinic Organisation is well-known Lancashire for its work bringing business owners together to share ideas, knowledge and their experiences.

Helen Livesey, BCO co-founder, said: “We believe in sharing best practice through our shared knowledge and peer to peer learning, ultimately supporting business owners and directors strengthen their business.

“Company Money Worries share our commitment to helping change people’s lives and their businesses. As a collective we will come out of this economic disaster together, much stronger.”

Company Money Worries and sister organisation Consumer Money Worries have been established in Preston, providing nationwide support for the last four years. Their goal is to reach as many businesses and individuals as possible to help them resolve their money worries.  Director Natasha Parrott said:  “As the nation enters into what is expected to be the worst financial crisis to hit us in our history, we urge those struggling to come forward and ask for help and not wait until it’s too late or until the situation is outside their control.“Asking for help sometimes feels like the hardest thing to do at that moment in time. It is when you have reached out and asked for help; then you will feel relieved and able to focus on rebuilding your financial future. “Our ultimate goal is to ensure that people do not battle the strains of money worries alone. Dealing with money worries can and does take people to the depths of despair; we want you to know; we are here for you.”
