Blackpool Council’s Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy is providing opportunities for Blackpool businesses to reduce their energy bills and enhance sustainability. With non-domestic fuel prices averaging 7p/kWh for gas and 27p/kWh for electricity, businesses paying above these rates are encouraged to take advantage of the fully funded service.
The Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy is designed to help eligible Blackpool businesses transition to more cost-effective energy tariffs and adopt sustainable practices that benefit both their bottom line and the environment. The program, led by sustainability experts Megan Tucker and Caitlin Sanderson, offers comprehensive support, including detailed reviews of current energy tariffs to ensure business needs are met.
Additionally, the Academy provides in-depth, fully funded energy audits, followed by a personalised decarbonisation plan with actionable recommendations, such as installing energy-efficient LED lighting, implementing solar panels, transitioning to electric vehicles, and adopting other energy-saving measures. These steps are designed to significantly reduce the energy consumption and improve the overall efficiency of businesses.
Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy has demonstrated that businesses implementing sustainable practices can see significant long-term savings. Additionally, the Academy assists in securing funding to support transitions, ensuring a business’ journey towards sustainability is both feasible and financially beneficial.
Blackpool businesses paying more than 7p/kWh for gas or 27p/kWh for electricity are encouraged to contact the Blackpool Net Zero Academy for support on reducing energy costs.
