Silk Healthcare has announced intentions to develop a branch of its care home business in Colne, investing £3.5m and creating around 80 jobs.
The Barnsley-based firm already runs the Heather Grange care home in Burnley.Now Silk has now submitted a planning application for the site on Gibfield Road, where the now demolished Boulsworth Residential Centre once stood.
The 24-hour nature of the care home business will create around 80 full and part-time jobs and the development will make good use of a brownfield site, whilst the services provided will be of benefit to members of the local community, said Silk.
