2BR and The Bee part of Sunday Times best company to work for
Lancashire radio stations 2BR and The Bee are celebrating again after being declared part of the UK’s best company to work for for the third consecutive year.The radio stations are part of UKRD group, which grabbed the number one spot in the top hundred list, revealed by The Sunday Times this week. Independent inspectors have spent the last few months scrutinising bosses and staff at their base in Clayton-le-Moors along with their 15 sister stations across the UK from Cornwall to Sunderland.
In addition to examining the range of employee benefits and training programmes, staff at The Bee and 2BR were asked to fill in anonymous questionnaires about their life at work, broken down into 70 different categories.Managing director Simon Brierley said: “This is an immense achievement for The Bee and 2BR, and east and central Lancashire. We work hard to create a great workplace for our staff as it’s through them that we deliver results for our clients and listeners.” 2BR is the commercial radio station for Burnley, Hyndburn and Pendle and The Bee serves Blackburn, Darwen, Hyndburn, Preston, South Ribble and Chorley. The stations reach a combined adult audience of 180,000 adults along the M65 corridor.
