Blackburn based Training for Counsellors have outlined their plans for 2026, a year that is set to build on recent growth while marking a period of reflection and forward momentum for the organisation.
In 2025, Training for Counsellors continued to expand their training opportunities and learning community.
They were also named Counselling Training Provider of the Year 2025/26 by the North of England Prestige Awards and received the BRAINZ 500 Global Award. The recognition reflects the organisation’s commitment to collaborative, experiential and accessible counselling training that supports meaningful professional development.
Starting 2026 with a Vision Boarding Workshop, provided a creative and reflective environment for participants to set personal and professional intentions, rooted in ethical self-respect and healthy boundaries.
January also marked a significant milestone with the completion of their first cohort of the Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. Supporting counsellors in training as they grow into confident, reflective practitioners remains central to the organisation’s work.
Training for Counsellors continue to strengthen their commitment to creating more inclusive and affirming therapeutic spaces. As they continue to provide their specialist sensory awareness training with Barnardo’s, they are supporting professionals working with children and young people across the UK.
Looking ahead, 2026 will see Training for Counsellors bring a rich programme of courses, online learning, and CPD opportunities designed to support counsellors at every stage of their journey.
This includes continued support for second-year Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling students, alongside welcoming a new cohort onto the two-year qualifying course, to support counsellors in training develop strong clinical skills, ethical awareness and professional confidence.
New and ongoing provision will also include the launch of a Certificate in Therapeutic Trauma Practice developed by course facilitator Linsey Bailey-Rowles, an online course focused on Building and Sustaining an Ethical Private Practice, the Advanced Diploma in Clinical Supervision course, the Solution-Focused Approach CPD for Short-Term and EAP Work and the third year of the Certificate in Working with the Functionality of Neurodivergent Children and Young People.
Samantha Crapnell, owner, said: “As we move into 2026, it feels important to acknowledge that our growth would not have been possible without our dedicated facilitators and the counsellors who train with us.
"When I opened Training for Counsellors in 2024, my vision was to offer small cohort learning that was collaborative, experiential and affirming. Seeing where we are now reassures me that staying true to those values has allowed learning to remain relational, ethical and deeply grounded in practice.”
Training for Counsellors welcome enquiries from anyone keen to learn, reflect and grow within a supportive, ethical learning community, and encourages counsellors at any stage of their learning journey who wish to deepen their knowledge, broaden their skill set or take the next step in their professional development to get in touch.
