A one-of-a-kind Next Generation Workshop will take place on Wednesday 6th November

If you are the next generation to join the ‘family business’ or the next generation ‘thinking about joining the family business’ then this ‘un-workshop’ workshop  is for you.

The theme: The Futures’s here….it’s time to talk!

This is your chance to discuss ‘communication’ within family businesses.  You will explore with your ‘peers’ how to tackle the challenges of ‘talking business’, ‘talking change’, ‘talking innovation’, ‘talking leadership’ and what gets in the way of productive conversations.

Working in small peer groups, you may find that your peers can shed light on some of these challenges.

This workshop is available to next or new generations working within family businesses and to those thinking about it.

Itinerary for the Day:

  • Arrival 9.30am with refreshments
  • Welcome and Icebreaker
  • Session 1: Communications – what, why, how
  • Lunch 12.30 to 13.15
  • Session 2: Peer Group Challenge
  • Mid afternoon break 14.45
  • Session 3: The un-workshop – Next Gen Space: what would you create for you?
  • Close 4pm

The ‘un-workshop’ event will be held at Dunsters Farm in Bury (just off J2 of M66) where Joint MD, Hannah Barlow, herself a next generation successor will share her thoughts around the transition into a family business. There will also be the opportunity to have a tour of the Dunsters premises as part of the day.

Brought together by The Family Business Network, Be the Business & Thomas Jardine & Co
