Altham-based uniform and workwear provider Simon Jersey has appointed Oliver Cooper as head of supply chain.
He will be responsible for the company’s end-to-end supply chain from the production of both catalogue and bespoke uniforms through to fulfilment from its warehouse.
His role will also include working with all of Simon Jersey’s suppliers to ensure that its CSR code of standards around labour and the environment is upheld.
Within his first few weeks at Simon Jersey, Oliver has completed a tour of suppliers in the Far East as well as reviewing company reporting to identify improvements and cost savings.
Oliver previously worked in supply chain and finance roles at Pets at Home and is also a qualified accountant. Most recently he was supply chain and merchandising director for The Hut Group where he built a team that supported 50 per cent annual growth and successfully integrated five international acquisitions into the group.
He said: “It’s exciting to join a business like Simon Jersey that has an ambitious leadership team and a clear view on how it will grow over the next few years.
“The business has a very talented supply chain team in place and we’re already working together to deliver projects that will support growth from all customer types.”
James Saunders, managing director at Simon Jersey, said: “Oliver has outstanding experience and it is fantastic to have him in the senior team. He is already working closely with our suppliers and delivering changes that will help us achieve our business goals.”
