You won’t believe what we’re donating… and who it’s helping! A local charity’s energy bills? GONE.

Lancashire is full of unsung heroes, and this month, a powerful act of kindness from a local business is set to change lives in our community.

Eco Providers, a Dutton-based renewable energy company, has announced it will be donating and installing a full solar panel system for the incredible team at Nightsafe Charity – an organisation providing life-saving support to vulnerable young people across Lancashire.  More Than Energy – It’s Hope.

Why does this matter? Because shaving £1,000 a year off energy bills means more hot meals, more beds, and more vital care for those who need it most.

And this isn’t a promise for some distant future. No catch. No delays. Installation begins in weeks and will be fully live within a month.

Who Nightsafe Are – and Why They Matter, Founded in Blackburn in 1990, Nightsafe provides accommodation, guidance, and life-changing support for young people aged 16–24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The charity offers emergency shelters, supported housing, and vital outreach services, helping hundreds of young people every year find safety, stability, and a path to a brighter future.

For many, Nightsafe is more than a charity – it’s a lifeline, offering not just a bed for the night but the tools and care needed to rebuild lives. With rising energy costs putting pressure on charities nationwide, saving £1,000 annually on bills isn’t just a number – it’s more food on the table, more nights of warmth, and more young people given a second chance.

Powering Change with Local Businesses

This initiative is spearheaded by Tom Myers, managing director of Eco Providers, whose mission is to use renewable energy to not only protect the planet but transform lives right here in Lancashire.

Tom isn’t doing it alone. This is a true community movement, with some of the region’s most respected businesses coming together to make it happen, including:

  • The John Bury Trust
  • MultiHealth Specialists
  • Blackburn Chemicals
  • Vision Linens
  • We Fix Electrix
  • Crown Paints
  • Nybble Group
  • Dunbia Group
  • Ronset Printers
  • WEPA
  • Prestige Beds
  • Dunscar Farm

More Than Panels – It’s a Purpose

Tom Myers said: “This is what renewable energy should be about – not just saving the planet but saving lives and strengthening our community.

“We want to prove that when businesses unite, we can create real, tangible change.”

A movement in the making for Eco Providers, this is not a one-off good deed but the start of a bold, ongoing mission: using renewable energy as a tool for social impact. With energy prices still hitting charities hard, this donation is more than just a system of panels – it’s a lifeline.

Lancashire’s business community has always been built on collaboration and heart. This project proves that when we combine innovation with compassion, we can power a brighter future for everyone.
