Leading housewares manufacturer What More UK has reported its most recent two apprentices have both been given full time positions in the firm.

William Moat (pictured left) and Izaac Holden (right) have both completed their apprenticeships and been rewarded with full time jobs at What More.

The Accrington based manufacturer is a market leader and brand leader in the plastic and metal housewares sector. Since they started their apprenticeship scheme, What More has given full-time positions to the all of its apprentices.

The firm’s two most recent apprentices to graduate the course have now got permanent positions within the company. One in the tool room and one in the injection moulding area.

The covid pandemic had put the brakes on What More’s apprenticeship scheme but now the company is looking out for three more engineering or manufacturing stars of the future. Apprentices at What More will get the chance to work in the company’s impressive factory and learn to maintain state of the art machinery.

What More’s manufacturing director Rob Walker explained about the scheme: “We’ve had great success in the past with our apprentices and that’s why we are keen to continue. We have an agreement with Burnley College where they spend a day a week learning the theory in class and four days a week with us here at What More.

“The scheme had a set back with Covid but now we’re moving forward and we’re ready for the next group.”

What More is a world leading manufacturing firm, they export to 75 countries. The company has a policy of continual investment in plant, people, and machinery, so apprentices can expect a fantastic experience.

What More UK recently invested £20m in brand new pneumatic presses to produce its popular bakeware lines, and new injection moulding machines.

What More UK is the manufacturer behind the popular housewares brand Wham. Their products are available in all the major UK supermarkets, DIY stores and a further 1600 independent retailers up and down the country.

The firm produces housewares of all kinds, from around the sink items to laundry, bakeware and cookware, home storage and gardenware.
