During October, participating solicitors will offer to write a simple will or amend an existing will, in exchange for a donation to Pendleside Hospice. It’s the perfect opportunity to get your affairs in order, whether you are writing your Will for the first time or looking to update it.
Making a will is not something we like to think about but, once it’s done, it gives you peace of mind knowing that your family, friends and causes close to your heart are looked after in the way that you want.
Why not do something about it? Make or amend a will and support Pendleside Hospice this October.
Follow these 4 simple steps:
- Choose your solicitor – contact one of our participating solicitors listed below to book your appointment.
- Get everything ready. List your assets (property, possessions and money) along with the people and charities you’d like to remember and support in your Will.
- Write or amend your will – with your chosen solicitor.
- Make a donation to Pendleside Hospice – in lieu of the Will writer’s usual fee. A suggested donation is £150 for a single Will and £250 for a double Will.

How to donate
Once you have written and completed your Will with your chosen solicitor, they will ask you to make a donation in lieu of their payment, to Pendleside Hospice.
You can either pay cash, card or write a cheque payable to Pendleside Hospice. Donation envelopes will be available at your appointment.
How your donation helps Pendleside Hospice
The donations and pledges we receive through Will Month not only enable our compassionate care team to continue to provide palliative and end of life care for those living with a life limiting illness and those important to them, living in our local community but they also help us secure our future.
This offer applies to standard Wills, mirror Wills and codicils (a supplement making a change or addition to an existing Will) only. If your Will is not standard, your solicitor will advise you and agree a fee with you before proceeding.
