The Blackpool company was honoured by the 2018/19 School Travel Awards, which held its awards ceremony at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.
The awards are voted on by readers of School Travel Organiser magazine to celebrate first class destinations, attractions and providers that deliver when it comes to school trips and learning outside the classroom.Amongst the winners announced was the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham, voted Best Sporting Venue, the V&A London, which picked up the award for Best Museum Visit, while Cheddar Gorge & Caves in Somerset won Best Venue for History Learning.
Sian Belfield, customer relations director at WST Travel, said: “There aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to all those teachers and educators who voted and indeed the growing number with whom we work each year."Our desire to deliver the very best learning opportunities outside the classroom, paired with exceptional service continues to grow and recognition like this just further strengthens our belief that teachers need an honest, reliable and trustworthy company to work with. From all of the WST Travel team, a very big thank you!” The accolade follows expansion triumph for WST Travel’s parent company, Next Generation Travel (NGT), which acquired three Surrey-based educational travel brands: Study Experiences, Sport Experiences and Remembrance Travel last month, enabling the group to grow its turnover to £25m with staff figures reaching 80 and annual passenger figures increasing to over 70,000.
