Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors has reached the finals of the Red Rose Awards for a second successive year.

The firm, which has eight offices across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, scooped the legal services accolade in last year’s finals and is hoping for a repeat performance in 2020.

WHN’s latest achievement comes on the back of powerful commercial growth – turnover has risen by 13.5 per cent from £4.39m in 2016/17 to more than £5m in 2018/19.

This has enabled the firm, which employs 110 staff, to make key strategic investments in business development, including the appointment of a managing director, head cashier, head of IT and six support staff.

Meanwhile, WHN’s community-focused ethos has involved hosting fund-raising events in support of several charities, as well as making donations to deserving causes. As a patron of both Rossendale Hospice and Community Solutions in Accrington, WHN Solicitors believes strongly in giving back to local people and grass roots organisations.

2019 saw WHN donate more than £45,000 to multiple charities throughout Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

Michael Shroot, chief executive officer at WHN Solicitors, said: “We want to run a business where our staff and directors not only enjoy, but are proud to work for us. We recognise that our people are one of our greatest assets, so we’re dedicated to developing our people and providing a great working environment while offering a first-class service to our clients.

“A revamped business development structure has been key to driving our business this year – we’ve seen almost 6,000 new cases opened across the firm. We firmly believe in adding value for our clients and have seen firsthand how this benefits the firm through increased client retention.”

Michael added: “We have invested heavily in a new IT infrastructure to drive the delivery of our services, enabling us to offer advice in a more modern, efficient and streamlined way.”
