What More begins 2017 with international expansion

Plastic housewares manufacturer What More UK is starting 2017 with an export boost as it begins selling its products to customers in Switzerland and Israel.

A nationwide DIY chain in Switzerland placed a sizeable order of products across What More's range of plastic homewares.

Tony Grimshaw, director of What More UK, said: "A British plastic homewares manufacturer selling to a customer in Switzerland is simply brilliant. We have competitors in Germany and Italy, much closer geographically to this customer than us, and yet, they have chosen to do business with What More. That's testament to the high quality of our products and the value for money that we offer."

And What More UK's 70th export country is Israel, having shipped a large order of bakeware plus some homewares to a customer there.

Tony commented: "There aren't any big bakeware manufacturers in Israel so our customer looked for an international supplier. They were impressed by both our product range and the quality of our bakeware.

"In late 2016 we enjoyed some of our busiest months on bakeware, with this new export additional a part of that. This success is having a significant impact on What More's turnover and proves once again that diversifying into bakeware was a great decision for us."

These two new additions put What More UK's list of export countries up to 70 countries worldwide. The business, which manufactures and distributes plastic household goods from its 500,000 square foot purpose-built facility in Altham in Lancashire, already exports to countries including Madagascar, China, Afghanistan, New Zealand and Brazil.

Tony added: "We've found that the ‘Made in Britain' mark still carries an unwritten guarantee of quality for international markets and our products are serving to strengthen that conviction.

"We are grateful to the Department of International Trade North West and the East Lancs Chamber of Commerce whose contribution has helped us secure our new markets in Switzerland and Israel."

As the UK's leading manufacturer and distributor of plastic housewares, gardening and storage products, What More UK makes more than 700 product lines from storage boxes to plant pots, pet beds, washing up bowls, buckets and bins, sold under the trusted and value-for-money Wham brand. The business also has an extensive range of bakeware, including enamelware and the PushPan range of silicone sealed bakeware.
