Wham branded products reach around two thirds of global population, claims What More UK

As they ship a container to another country on their ever-growing export list, What More UK is proud to say its plastic homewares are now available to around 4.7 billion people worldwide.

The Philippines is joining a list of over 70 countries across the globe to which the UK’s leading plastic homewares manufacturer ships its products.

Shoppers in every corner of the globe now have the opportunity to purchase Wham® branded plastic storage and homewares – from Canada to New Zealand, from Brazil to Russia.

And What More UK’s 71st export market, The Philippines, will shortly receive a container-load of Wham® branded plastics, including storage solutions and other household products.

Tony Grimshaw OBE, Director of Lancashire-based What More UK, said, “It’s staggering to think that our products are now available to around two thirds of people across the world.

“The growth of our export business is nothing short of phenomenal. What More didn’t begin exporting its products until 2008; to have clocked up global export customers in 71 countries in less than nine years is testament to the hard work of our dedicated international sales team.”

This latest addition increases What More UK’s list of export countries to 71 countries worldwide. The business, which manufactures and distributes plastic household goods from its 500,000 square foot purpose-built facility in Altham, close to Burnley in Lancashire, already exports to countries including China, Australia, Madagascar and Israel.

Tony Grimshaw added, “Our customer in the Philippines has shown interest in taking Wham® branded cookware and bakeware in the future too.

“There’s no doubt that the ‘Made In Britain’ tag is of particular significance to our overseas customers. It represents quality and we work hard to ensure our customer service reinforces that notion.

“As always, we’re appreciative of the support given to What More by the Department of International Trade North West and the East Lancs Chamber of Commerce. Each of their contributions has been invaluable in helping us secure new international markets.”

What More UK’s international success was given a Royal seal of approval in 2014 with the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise in International Trade. Earlier this year the company announced that it had been named among the Department for International Trade (DIT) North West’s Export Champions for the fourth consecutive year. As the UK's leading manufacturer and distributor of plastic housewares, gardening and storage products, What More UK makes more than 700 product lines from storage boxes to plant pots, pet beds, washing up bowls, buckets and bins, sold under the trusted and value-for-money Wham® brand. The business also has an extensive range of bakeware, including enamelware and the award-winning PushPan range of silicone sealed bakeware.
