In very positive news for the UK retail market, the online brand of high street retailer Wilko has been rescued by the owner of The Range, CDS Superstores Ltd in a multi million pound deal. When the online store came back online, the very first product bought by keen shoppers was the ever popular and useful Wham Crystal Storage Box.

Wilko.com will continue to trade and add more and more lines to its offering, and they have promised to bring back Wilko own-brand products alongside branded goods such as the Wham range of household items. The brands are a perfect fit, with Wilko being focussed on value, durability, and items that help around the home.

Lorraine Briggs, direct sales manager at What More, is pleased to see the brand return. She commented: "It's been a tough year for Wilko, and Wham Direct continued to offer support through this difficult period. We've had an a very positive online partnership for more than 6 years and so I was saddened, particularly for their staff, when their closure was announced.

"I was fortunate to hear the breaking news that CDS had saved Wilko.com and its employees, immediately contacting the buyer who'd also just been informed to get back up and running!  The relaunch has been incredibly efficient, and we hope that customers will continue to have confidence in Wilko.com.

"It's awesome that the very first product sold on the newly relaunched website is a Wham product, manufactured in the UK, from our best-selling Crystal range. I look forward seeing many more orders fulfilled and sharing in Wilko.com's future success."

Jonathan Cliffe, ecommerce and marketing director for What More, added: "It's great news for the UK retail market that the popular retail brand Wilko is able to carry on online, thanks to the team at The Range. Even better news that our storage box was the very first thing that shoppers needed when the site relaunched!

"We've always had a great partnership with Wilko online, and we welcome them back and wish them all the best going forward."

What More UK manufactures storage boxes and housewares of all kinds under the Wham brand including storage boxes, bakeware, around-the-sink items, products for the home laundry, utility room, and items for the garden like planters and troughs. What More's products are all made in East Lancashire and are sold in 76 countries around the world.
