Weru UK, a market leader in windows and doors, is delighted to announce that the company has been shortlisted for two 2020 Installer Awards, sponsored by Glass and Glazing Products Magazine.

The 2020 Installer Awards celebrate the UK glazing industry’s most impressive installations, products and services, as well as recognise its most outstanding individuals.

Weru UK is shortlisted for Best Installation - Residential: under £20,000 and Best Installation- Residential: over £20,000.

John Feeney, general manager of Weru UK commented, “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for 2 awards in the 2020 Installer Awards. All of the recognition for these awards goes to the entire Weru team for successfully delivering these outstanding projects for our customers under the difficult circumstances that Covid and lockdown presented.”

For the project under £20,000, the customer wanted the removal of an existing PVCu composite double door set and replacement with a high performance, thermally efficient, secure door. After visiting the Weru UK showroom, and viewing the range of premium doors on offer, the customer was satisfied that Weru’s products would meet their desire to remove the traditional looking, rosewood brown PVCu door with gold hardware and replace it with a cutting edge, efficient, contemporary style.

The shortlisted residential project valued over £20,000 involved the supply and installation of Weru products to a new build property in Garstang, Lancashire. The customer wanted high specification triple glazing, but also large panes of glass particularly to the rear, tall gables to the front and openable windows of a simple design with no transoms to afford unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside and the substantial plot.

Despite Covid issues, the installation was carried out on time and completed to the customer’s satisfaction. The customer commented, “We chose to use Weru after they were recommended to us by numerous builders and architects, even a timber window specialist suggested we use them! Referring to them as the ‘Gold Standard’ for windows and doors.

The personalised, individual service, from a small team was hugely beneficial to our project and just what we were looking for. We are delighted with the overall quality, function and aesthetics of the windows.”

John Feeney also said: “Depending on where we stand with lockdown in March, we would love to get the team together in the showroom to celebrate the shortlisting while the virtual awards are being presented, but we will have to wait and see if this is possible. If not, we will be joining the ceremony from our own homes!”

Glass & Glazing Products Magazine editor, Luke Wood, commented: “We have been overwhelmed by both the quantity and quality of the entries, all of which have served to showcase the skill and hard work of the UK’s window, door and conservatory installers.

“They’ve also highlighted the outstanding quality of the products that installers have at their disposal, a perfect demonstration of the innovation and engineering expertise that is so prevalent in the glazing industry.”

A virtual awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, 18 March 2021.
