Visitors are flocking from near and far to visit Blackburn town centre’s sand sculpture trail.
Launched last Friday and running until Sunday 28 August, Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID) is hosting a Sand Sculpture trail across Blackburn Town Centre that’s free for families to visit.
There are 10 incredible summer holiday-themed sand sculptures, created by Hebden Bridge-based Sand In Your Eye, installed in businesses across Blackburn Town Centre.
And a stunning sea life centre is also on display following a three-day live carve at the start of the trail in Victoria Court in The Mall – where approximately two tonnes of sand was used.
Trail maps are available from the Ask Me Point in The Mall showing the location of each of the models. At each of the sculptures will be some facts and figures and if you answer all the quiz questions correctly on the back of the booklet and hand it into the Ask Me Point you will be in with a chance of winning £100 in high street vouchers to spend however you want!
Catherine Price, Blackburn BID manager, said: “We are very excited to have the sand sculpture trail in Blackburn for the first time. The sculptures have been specially designed and created for Blackburn Town Centre and are sure to give people the holiday vibes while searching for each of the impressive carvings.
“A range of our businesses are hosting the amazing sculptures, and we hope everyone enjoys visiting them.”
The sand sculptures will be available to see in Trespass, Primark, Clarks, and Rhode Island Coffee within The Mall, Utilita on King William Street, Althams on New Market Street, Grays Schoolwear on Northgate, Blackburn Central Library and Mad Hatters Tearooms on Town Hall Street and Morrisons on Salford.
