We have recently seen a 30 per cent surge in demand for our multiyear support contracts and extended warranties as clients look to protect their investments post-Covid.

The increase over the last 18 months had been driven by a desire for reassurance and stability following the uncertainty created by the pandemic.

Steve Murphy, managing director of UVS, which provides video wall displays and audio-visual solutions to a range of clients across the UK and around the world, said: “We have seen a significant increase in clients purchasing multiyear annual support contracts and extended warranties upfront with the main video wall system purchase order.

“This has typically been up to three-year or five-year support contracts and extended warranties from the normal two years up to five years, as clients look to ensure they protect their investment with virtually fixed costs.

“As the advances in video wall functionality make them more and more a joint operational, collaboration and serious marketing tool, their overall importance has increased and clients want to provide protection for the investment and ensure it is performing to its optimum.

“Also, since Covid we have all experienced fluctuating, and generally rising costs in all areas of business and these long-term support and extended warranty costs provide reassurance and stability for the operational life of the system.

“Stakeholders are also selling the benefits of these contracts and extended warranties internally within their businesses to ensure they get them in place up front, so they won’t be cancelled at the annual renewal dates due to future fiscal changes.”

A UVS annual support contract ensures that clients are protected by scheduled preventative maintenance services and onsite support.

It also ensures priority for investigating any reported issues and trained engineers are available to assist by phone, remote access or by on-site support.

Scheduled preventative maintenance visits also ensure that all relevant firmware and software updates are applied to the system to maintain optimum performance during its operational life.

UVS, based in the Burnley First – Burnley Business Centre, is led by four senior colleagues who, between them, have more than 80 years’ combined Audio Visual, Control Room and Visual Solutions experience.
