There are a whole host of advantages in empowering your workforce with industry-recognised qualifications.  As well as aiding the personal development of staff, your business benefits from having a wider base of knowledge and skills from which to improve quality, compliance and grow your client base.  Potential customers want to know that your staff, at all levels, are qualified and competent; they will actively seek out a business that demonstrates the right attitude towards professionalism and safety.

A great way to upskill staff in the construction industry is through a vocational NVQ.  Many courses allow the learner to get qualified on-the-job so there is no adverse impact on their day-to-day duties or your business.

Popular NVQ courses in the North West

North West Skills Academy is a leading provider of NVQs in the North West with offices in Preston and Manchester.  From groundwork to bricklaying, insulation, plastering and supervision, all the courses in their comprehensive range offer a clear, rewarding learning pathway for construction employees and apprentices.

The Passive Fire Protection Level 2 NVQ is hugely popular as more business premises increasingly seek a multi-level approach to fire safety. The course has been specially developed to take place in a real workplace environment.  Staff working with passive fire protection in the construction industry will be assessed against established occupational standards while working find out more by reading our Passive Fire Protection overview.

North West Skills Academy offer plastering NVQs at Level 2 and Level 3 courses.  Aimed at and designed specifically for employed staff, students have the opportunity to develop and demonstrate their skills and knowledge in the workplace under the guidance of a qualified assessor.  Typically, each qualification can be completed within 3-4 months and more experienced staff may achieve the NVQ in a shorter time frame.

With more and more employers and clients now stipulating that workers must hold a CSCS card, upskilling your staff has never been more important. To view the full range of courses, visit https://www.nwskillsacademy.co.uk/nvq-assessments/
